Harwood and Bradshaw

Existing as a township as early as the 12th century, the area was recorded as Harewood in the early 13th with Alexander de Harwood and Henry Bradshaw holding lands in the area and the Bradshaws remaining an important family until the early 1600s. Harwood and Bradshaw straddle the picturesque valley of Bradshaw Brook and consist of a large mixture of property types and a range of local amenities, all around 3 miles from the centre of Bolton, on the southern edge of the West Pennine Moors.

With St Brendans, St Maxentius, Harwood Meadows and Hardy Mill primary schools in the area and Turton, Canon Slade and St Catherine’s Academy just a stone’s throw away, Harwood and Bradshaw offer easy access, although the school run can get a little busy at times.

A wide selection of local shops are complimented by Morrison’s supermarket in Harwood itself with the rest of Bolton’s shopping facilities only a couple of miles away either by car or using the regular bus services which run through the area.

For commuters, Bromley Cross and Hall i’th’Wood railway stations are just five minutes drive, with regular services to Blackburn, Bolton and Manchester.
