Schools, Shopping and Transport

With Turton and Edgworth Primary school in the centre of the village, the area also benefits from its easy links to not only high quality secondary schools in Bolton, such as Turton, Canon Slade and Thornleigh, but also to a range of schools in Bury, Darwen and Blackburn giving access to education a solid 10 out of 10.

A local butchers and deli, grocers and ice cream shop, pharmacy and post office are there for every day needs and supermarkets can be found 10 or 15 minutes away in Bromley Cross and Harwood for the weekly shop – of course there’s always online with the big supermarkets – quite a popular choice with locals!

Whilst there is a railway station at Entwistle, most local commuters use nearby Bromley Cross which lies inside the Transport for Greater Manchester zone and gives access to special fares and ticketing deals. Road transport in any direction begins with a journey through beautiful scenery – what better way to start off your day – with Bolton, Blackburn and Bury all easily accessible and only 20 minutes away.
